Angelika Nemeth
Angelika Nemeth has been traveling and seeking to enhance her knowledge most of her life. For over two decades she has journeyed through the paths and roads of Oriental Dance, and has studied with many notables of Middle Eastern Dance in Egypt and the United States. She teaches workshops and lectures and has performed in Canada, England, Germany, Japan and throughout the USA. Throughout the 1980's and 90's, she performed in all the top Middle Eastern restaurant/night clubs in the Los Angeles area. You may have seen her picture on the magazine covers of Jareeda and Habibi and on Jalaledin's Volume III album cover, or watched her on numerous dance videos like Raja Zahr's Dancing Live to Raja or her own, Angelika and Ensemble Live in Concert. Her dance peers recognize her as a leading exponent of this dance form.
Dance artist Z-Helene believes that art should transform. She is committed to a powerful and truthful purity of the moment that reveals the spirit through the flesh. As a teacher she has a deep regard and ability to communicate with each student. Z-Helene holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Franklin & Marshall College. She has a broad dance background that includes extensive study and performances in Middle Eastern, East Indian, African, modern, ballet and flamenco dance forms. Having first studied Middle Eastern dance in the late 1970's with Marie Silva in Los Angeles and Bobby Farrah in New York City, she has been continually performing and instructing Middle Eastern dance for over 26 years and is constantly attending seminars to upgrade her skills. She is a certified board member of NATCMED. For the past 19 years Z-Helene has been teaching an accredited Middle Eastern dance class at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas, where she has produced large scale Middle Eastern dance concerts. Z-Helene has received nationally acclaimed for her percussion talent with finger cymbals and her passionate dance style. She has produced four dance videos and two music CDs with more planned for the future. She has also pioneered a movement fusion that combines Belly Dance and Yoga called Bellyoga. As well as courses at Austin Community College, Z-Helene teaches classes at her home studio.and teaches seminars both locally and nationally. Her husband, Rick Fink, performs with her and teaches drum classes both in Austin and regionally.
